About Ave Maria Press:
Founded in 1865 at Notre Dame, Indiana, Ave Maria Press is a ministry of the Congregation of the Holy Cross, a Catholic publishing house that serves the spiritual and formative needs of the Church and its schools, institutions, and ministers as well as Christian individuals and families, and others seeking spiritual nourishment.
In the tradition of the Holy Cross, we are committed, as educators in the faith, to help people know, love, and serve God and to spread the gospel of Jesus through books and other resources.
We are proud to count among our authors some of the most respected and widely read Catholic thinkers and writers, with a special emphasis on prayer and spirituality, parish resources, and religious education curricula. Some of our recent successes include Rebuilt and Tools for Rebuilding by Michael White and Tom Corcoran, Sacred Space by the Irish Jesuits, The Handbook for Catholic Moms by Lisa Hendey, Strange Gods by Elizabeth Scalia, Six Sacred Rules for Families by Tim and Sue Muldoon, Streams of Contentment by Robert Wicks, and Atchison Blue by Judith Valente.
We are actively seeking proposals for books that offer a fresh take on traditional Catholic spirituality, including “Christian Classics” originally published prior to 1950. We are especially interested in works of rich literary quality that meet the expressed needs of a broad range of Catholics and other Christians.
Prospective authors strongly urged to review Ave Maria Press’s website and be able to articulate how their work compares with at least two other books we have already published. You should also be able to name three ways you are able to help us market your book, should we decide to publish it.
